Smoking Vs Vaping Eradicating The Myths
Eradicating the Myths Around Vaping
In a study sample covering 1,300 college students conducted by the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, it was found that using e-cigarettes is not a gateway for younger people to abuse tobacco cigarettes, which is a myth that often surrounds the industry.
A common myth that is often brought up by those critical of the vaping industry is that second hand vapor from vaping devices is toxic and akin to the second hand smoke from cigarettes. However, a study by the Oxford Journal concluded that e-cigarettes are not a source of second hand exposure to combustion toxicants.
Another vaping myth in circulation is that it is not a method to assist with smoking cessation, yet a worldwide study of 19,000 people which was conducted by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health actually found that vaping devices were used to avoid the harm to health that has been proven by smoking cigarettes. It also found that e-cigarettes can also be effective even in highly-dependent smokers.
